What areas do you build in?

Ashland, Lincoln, Valley, Gretna, Fremont, Waverly, Valparaiso, and surrounding eastern Nebraska communities. 

What is the starting price for a custom home?

Our custom homes typically start at $600,000, depending on size, design, finishes, and site conditions. 

Can you help us determine whether building or remodeling makes more sense?

Yes. We'll discuss your goals, current home, budget, and timeline to help determine which option provides the best long-term value. 

Do you build from existing plans or fully custom designs?

Clients can start with an existing concept, bring their own floor plan, or work with us to create a completely custom design tailored to their lifestyle and property. 

What is the first step if I'm considering building a custom home?

Schedule a consultation. We'll discuss your goals, budget, timeline, lot options, and whether a custom build is the right fit before you make any major decisions. 

Do you offer remodeling services?

 Yes. High-end remodeling projects typically start at $100,000. 

How many homes do you build each year?

Andel Building intentionally limits our custom home projects to just five homes per year. We are not a volume builder. This allows us to provide a highly personalized experience, close communication, and the craftsmanship every custom home deserves.

Do I need to own land before contacting you?

No. We can discuss your goals and help evaluate potential lots before you purchase.

Can you help us find a lot?

Yes. We can help evaluate available lots and communities based on your lifestyle, budget, and home design goals. 

Do you have lots available?

Yes. We often have lots available in Iron Horse and other select communities. Contact us for current availability. 

Can you build on my existing lot?

Absolutely. We regularly build on client-owned lots and acreage properties.

Can you build on acreage?

Yes. We regularly build on rural and acreage properties throughout eastern Nebraska.

How do I know if my lot is suitable for construction?

We'll evaluate grading, utilities, access, drainage, setbacks, soil conditions, and other site considerations before construction begins. 


Design & Customization

Your vision, fully customized from the ground up.

How custom can my home be?

Every home is designed around your family’s lifestyle, preferences, and property. We are not a production builder. 

Can I bring my own floor plan?

Yes. We can build from a client-provided plan or modify an existing plan. 

Do you work with architects and/or designers?

Yes. We collaborate with trusted architects, designers, draftsmen, and industry professionals to help bring your vision to life. 

Can I make changes during construction?

Yes, although changes after construction begins may affect pricing and scheduling. Any cost or timeline impact will be discussed before moving forward.

Can I purchase my own fixtures and finishes while receiving guidance?

Yes. We guide clients through cabinetry, flooring, lighting, fixtures, finishes, and other selections while allowing flexibility for homeowners to source select items, such as lighting or cabinet hardware, online or locally. 

Do you build ranch, two-story, and walkout homes?

Yes. We build a variety of home styles tailored to each client's needs and lot characteristics.

Can you incorporate aging-in-place or zero-entry features?

Absolutely. Many clients choose features that improve long-term accessibility and convenience.

Can you build luxury specialty spaces?

 

Absolutely. Custom features are one of the greatest advantages of building a home designed around your lifestyle — from golf simulators, pools, pool houses, and separate guest quarters to spas, steam showers, heated primary bathroom floors, wine cellars, heated driveways,  private speakeasy-style rooms, dog wash stations, and outdoor living areas with gas fire pits.

How often will I meet with the builder during construction?

We maintain regular communication throughout the project and schedule walkthroughs at key construction milestones.

How do you handle unexpected challenges during construction?

Construction projects occasionally encounter unforeseen conditions. We communicate openly, provide options, and work collaboratively to keep projects moving forward.

Are allowances included in the budget?

Yes. We establish allowances for certain selections and provide ongoing visibility so clients know when they are over or under their allowance budgets.

Can I make upgrades during construction?

Yes. Upgrades can be incorporated throughout the process, though they may impact pricing and scheduling.
